CURRENT LAB MEMBERS
Danielle Kellogg, M.A. (she, her, hers) Applied Social Psychology Ph.D. Program Teaching Scholar Fellow (2021-2022) My research interests include romantic relationship functioning and sexism. Specifically, I am interested in how women experience hostile sexism and benevolent sexism within heterosexual romantic relationships. I am currently working on my dissertation, which will examine when women attribute their romantic relationship partner's sexism. Vinchenzo Vassalotti (he, him, his) Applied Social Psychology PhD Program My research interests include marginalized identity focuses such as BIPOC communities and Queer communities and the intersection of in-group/out-group influences and self-identity with emphasis on public policy and local education initiatives. My research interests have a fair amount of variance, but often reflect experiences of marginalized individuals in the modern world and understanding the impact of being a part of certain populations amongst the unrest we see. Kennedy Hoying (she, her, hers) Applied Social Psychology PhD Program My interests include motivational systems, interpersonal relationships, and the effects of stigma within marginalized groups; particularly individuals with addiction. My research endeavors seek to apply existing theories of interpersonal relationships to prevention and intervention efforts for high-risk individuals with addiction. Francisco Diaz (he, they) Applied Social Psychology BA/MA Program My research interests include interactions on LGBTQIA+ dating apps and their effect on body image in sexual minority communities. I am further interested in looking at how prescribed labels within queer dating app settings can elicit body dissatisfaction and body shame, especially in cis/trans male BIPOC populations. Clara Tebbe (she/they) Undergraduate Major: Psychology & Neuroscience I'm interested in studying both the cognitive and technical aspects of how our sleep patterns are affected by the lives we lead. What long term effects does anxious behavior have on sleep? Can community support ease people's sleep patterns? How do our interactions with others manifest in our unconscious mind? Jason Cano (he/him) Undergraduate Major: Psychology My interest in research is understanding self-identity and conformity. I am specifically interested in how these two aspects interact with each other, and how it might relate to BIPOC communities and how these communities may or may not conform within non-BIPOC communities. Kaia Reynolds (she/her) Undergraduate Majors & Minor: Psychology &Social Work; Psychology of Crime and Law I am interested in researching the different intersections between the family unit, the larger communities and societies within which they function, and the mental health and psychological well-being of different individuals within the family unit. More specifically, youth and adolescence are my demographic of interest. Kess Thomas (he/they) Undergraduate Major: Psychology My research interest is queer and disabled people’s relationship with sex and what can be done to create a healthy and safe environment to explore these topics. Skylar Muhlbach (she/her) Undergraduate Majors: Psychology & Neuroscience on a pre-pa track My research interests revolve around interpersonal relationships, stigmas in marginalized groups, specifically among women and children in BIPOC communities, and interventions aimed at addressing addiction. I'm additionally interested in understanding how social dynamics and systemic inequalities impact these individuals. |
